The Galaxy S25 Ultra: Slimmer, Lighter Design

The Samsung S25 Ultra just arrived and it’s mostly what the rumors had been talking about. get. It makes a great first impression thanks to a smarter design. Samsung rounded off the sharp corners of the phone to make more comfortable to hold.

They were also able to reduce the thickness and weight the S25 Ultra. The S25 is now 8.2 mm thin while weighing 218g. The phone still incorporates titanium in its frame. It exclusively features the new Corning Gorilla Armor 2. This armor is more durable than the earlier-generation ceramic glass and remains anti-reflective.

Display
The screen size of the S25 Ultra is now 6.9” due to reduction of the bezels. Apart from the size change, the display is unchanged. It features a QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, Vision booster, and Adaptive color tone.
Processor
The Galaxy S25 Series comes with a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for Galaxy. The S25 Ultra also includes this chip.

In addition to this the S25 Ultra comes with 12GB of RAM and a 40% larger vapor chamber for cooling. Samsung claims the chip commands a 40% faster NPU, 37% faster CPU, and 30% faster GPU than its predecessor.
AI Abilities
The S25 Series now come with now AI abilities for Galaxy. You can summon Gemini by pressing and holding the side-slash-Power button. Circle to Search can now recognize phone numbers, emails, and URLs for quick actions. Multimodal AI agents interpret text, speech, images, and even videos for natural interactions. For instance, you can ask Gemini to find a specific photo in Gallery. Search is content-aware suggesting your next step – sharing a GIF, or saving an event.
There’s call transcript and summary, writing assist can summarize content and format notes, generative edit is now available on-device.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a Personal Data Engine. It analyzes user data on the device. The engine keeps the data private within Knox Vault. There is something named post-quantum cryptography. It protects your data from potential threats of future quantum computers.
There is also the Now Brief which shows a summary of your day. It is proactive with suggestions tailored to your needs and preferences throughout the day. You can get stock news, a weather forecast, events, travel info, etc. You can find the Now Brief on your lockscreen now.
The AI suite is included in Android 15-based One UI 7. It premieres on the Galaxy S25 series. Naturally, it will make it to other Samsung phones down the road. Samsung pledges seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates with the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Cameras Aspect
There is not much exciting news about the cameras as it has been for some time on. The only new thing with the S25 Ultra is the new new 50MP f/1.9 ultrawide camera. Apart from that, anything new is the software.
Samsung touts its next-gen AI ProVisual Engine, which enhances shooting, viewing, and editing.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra now shoots 10-bit HDR videos by default. It was off by default in the S24 Ultra. For the first time, Samsung offers a Galaxy Log. This is a wider color gamut recording mode for further and more precise color grading.
Within Expert RAW, there’s a new Virtual Aperture mode, giving you depth-of-field control.
Finally, Portrait Studio lets you create personal avatars using AI.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in Titanium Silverblue, Titanium Black, Titanium Whitesilver, and Titanium Gray. It is available in 12/256GB, 12/512GB, and 12GB/1TB configurations. Prices are €1,449/£1,249, €1,569/£1,349, and €1,569/£1,549. As part of its pre-order bonuses, Samsung will double the base storage to 512GB at no cost.
